A golf professional since 1984, Michael served as an instructor at golf schools in Texas and San Diego, held the position of Southwest Regional Director for the Henry-Griffits Custom Club Company, and General Manager/Head Golf Professional at East Lake Country Club. In 1999 he joined the staff at Empire Lakes. He has been acknowledged with several awards: The Chick Evans Caddie Scholarship, 1990 Rocky Mountain Section PGA Assistant Professional of the Year, 1995 San Diego Chapter PGA Club Fitter of the Year, the Tom Addis III Award, and the 2001 Southern California PGA Club Fitter of the year award. In 2002 Michael was awarded the Jim Griffitts Award for excellence in club fitting, the Henry-Griffitts company's highest honor. In 2003 he became a Certified Explanar Teaching Professional. In both 2003 and 2004 he received the Inland Empire Chapter of the PGA's Club Fitter of the Year Award. In 2004 Michael was one of only 47 professionals worldwide to qualify for the Henry-Griffitts Master Club Fitter award. In 2004 he was nominated for Teacher of the Year in the Southern California Section PGA. In 2006 Michael became an Authorized Instructor for "The Golfing Machine". |

2009 SCPGA Inland Chapter Teacher of the Year Tim Skophammer has been golf professional since 1976 and a member of the PGA since 1981, Tim has taught golf to students in Northern and Southern California. His resume includes teaching at Haggin Oaks Golf Complex in Sacramento, recognized multiple times as a leader in the golf industry for its instruction and merchandising arenas; as well as The Harmon Club, a state-of-the-art teaching complex in Boston, MA. Tim has received multiple awards for his expertise, including 2000 Clubfitter of the Year by the Northern California PGA, and 2002 Clubfitter of the Year for the Inland Chapter of the Southern California PGA. In 2005 and 2006 Tim was nominated for Southern California Section PGA Teacher of the Year. Tim's teaching philosophy is based on the simple basics of hand position, posture, and body balance. He focuses on five fundamentals including swing knowledge, short game, clubs that fit, a strong flexible body, and a solid mental approach. His knowledge, commitment and love for teaching allows him to develop any skill level in any student. |
